We all want to know the "secret" to improving our own health and wellness. The most effective nutrition and exercise habits for YOU are undoubtedly the ones that YOU are willing to stick with... not for a week or a month, but for the long term.
So, how do we know what we should incorporate into our lifestyle? Well, we can't rely on "experts" alone to dictate a clear prescription for maintaining health. When it comes to fitness, there is doubt about what constitutes an expert. Take doctors for example... A shabby one quarter of medical schools teach the National Academy of Science's recommended minimum of 25 hours of nutrition instruction. Exercise courses? Sparse for most doctors.
You are your own best expert. Find your ideal fitness habits through experimentation. With a myriad of age-old techniques as well as new methods for keeping fit, test approaches until you find what works best for you. You won't know until you try.
Acupuncture is considered voodoo by many, but when I had back pain that couldn't be resolved through traditional medicine, it worked for me. Boxing is viewed as violent by some, but my co-founder Paul uses it as a stress relief and a way to challenge himself.
Yoga. High-intensity interval training. Pilates. Walking. Cycling. Running. Kettle bells. Core Flyte. Test and learn. There are many options, and there is bound to be something you enjoy enough to stick with. You'll find the best activities for you to incorporate into YOUR workout... Reinvented.
We'd love to hear about your experiences. Tell us about exercises that you've recently discovered to be a good fit for you. Comment on our Facebook page at facebook.com/flytefitness or tweet us at @flytefitness.
